Although TIIYA's Spring Summer 2021 collection mostly comprises of very few colors, predominantly blue, white, and red, with gold brocade. The simplicity of the colors of the majority of the collection is set off by the complexity of the craftsmanship in creating the vase-like forms.
The motifs created in fine hand embroidery, are inspired by Blue and White pottery and through its journey, the celebration of connecting cultures through the shared legacy on a journey through The Silk Route.
The origin of this decorative style is thought to emanate from Iraq, where artisans in Basra imitated imported white Chinese stoneware with their white pottery and added their own decorative motifs in blue glazes.
This look consists of antique pure silk woven Japanese obis expertly crafted into a vase-like silhouette, paired with delicate dentelle.
